Another successful conference of our Society was concluded yesterday!
Between 16-18 July 2025, about 100 experts, professionals, academics and practicioners from 34 countries and 5 continents met at the Reukjavik University in Iceland for the 13th IEES international conference.
Numerous case studies, demo systems, full-scale systems, research projects, experimental works, policy approaches were presented during the conference. The wide diversity of projects and expertise that came together highlight the dynamic of ecological engineering as the only discipline that brings together ecology and engineering in a new design paradigm. Ecological engineering reshapes today engineering solutions suggesting a circular problem-solving approach to support the transition to a sustainable society.
The conference also marked a new start for our Society. The foundations are set for many new initiatives and activities planned for the near future, in order to increase the global visibility of IEES and involve more of our increasing members to the work and tasks carried out. More on this will follow soon.
Taking also the opportunity of the presence of the former presidents of the American Ecological Engineering Society in Iceland, we plan to enhance our collaboration and synergies development with the plenty national Ecolological Engineering associations and organize joint initiatives.
Thanks to all the ecological engineers who attended the 13th conference in Iceland and who continuously support IEES!
